Our client is a company operating a marketplace for consumers sellers and content creators. It offers merchandise and content purchased for resale from vendors and those offered by thirdparty sellers.
Job Title: Software Dev Engineer II

Job Description:
- The Content Platform team is looking for a Software Development Engineer who will act as first level support and development for all incoming production software application issues dealing with merchandising applications.
- Your solutions will impact our customers directly!
High Level Overview of Need:
- This team is associated with the outbound messages client customers receive.
- This role is needed to support in modifying the email push notification templates creating modules needed for these templates building / testing / implementing modules on a variety of platforms and ensuring it renders correctly in any situation.
Job Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate is interested in a career in software development and is looking to utilize and expand their coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications.
- They must be detail oriented have superior verbal and written communication skills strong organizational skills are able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure.
Preferred coding skills:
- Perl C/C and/or Java.
- Other desired technical skills include Mason Perl CGI Oracle SQL HTML UNIX/LINUX.
- A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and 25 years of relevant experience is required.
Story Behind the Need Business Group & Key Projects
Reason for Request:
- New position added to support current Team in anticipation of increased work load due to new implementations.
- The Outbound team has taken the decision to base all messages sent by client on templates managed within the Sonar Template management system.
- As more teams migrate to this centralized system the Outbound team will need to support an increasing number of additional templates and modules.
Surrounding Team and Key Projects:
- The Outbound team will need to support an increasing number of additional templates and modules. In addition to support important marketing use cases such as High Velocity Events Seasonal events new launches like Multi Content emails and design experiments to improve customer experience the Outbound team will need to build new modules and templates.

Interaction with Team:
- Collaborative when guidance needed mostly Independent Role
Typical Task Breakdown:
- Developing monitoring solutions
- Troubleshooting/debugging and implementing the fix for internally developed code (Perl C/C JAVA) performing SQL queries improving our systems that gather metrics on our features updating tracking and resolving technical challenges.
- Working alongside development on client Corporate and Divisional Software projects
- Updating/enhancing our current software automation of support processes and documentation of our systems.

- Experience with React Native JAVA Script and UNIX/LINUX
- Experience with Distributed Systems Architecture (intermediate level) and Wed Developer Tools.
- Knowledge on Front End Model Building and how to create various Modules Test and Implementing on various platforms to ensure it renders correctly for any outcome.
