Project Engineer - FormworkStructuresTemp Works

We seek an experienced Project Engineer with a strong construction and/or civil background (Formwork or temporary works).

The Project Engineer will be responsible for:

• Managing the Quality Assurance systems alongside the Project Manager and Site Manager.
• Managing the ITP process ensuring thirdparty engineering inspections are undertaken.
• Managing the Design process including coordination between inhouse design teams supplier design teams and client consultants.
• Overseeing the drawing transmittal and approvals process.
• Reviewing the buildability of the works and developing solutions with the Project Manager and the Temporary Works Design Engineers.
• Reading and interpreting plans drawings and specifications and ensuring that current information is communicated to the site team.
• Review revised drawings to identify and highlight any changes communicating these to the site team while understanding the implications of any changes on current activities and systems.
• Identifying design or site issues that may result in time delays and working with the Project Manager and Site Manager to find preventative solutions.
• Interfacing between the Site Manager and leading hands raising queries and RFIs to the client and consultant teams.
• Managing the project Documentation to ensure the most current documentation is being used and removing superseded documents from active use.
• Ensuring that all site works are carried out in accordance with the current documentation and the contract Scope of Works.
• Managing EH&S through the use of the Safety Management Plan by creating and modifying SWMS communicating safety requirements to the site team via toolbox talk meetings and ensuring that works are carried out according to approved documentation.
• Supporting the WHS Manager in dealing with incident & accident reporting.
• Monitoring progress and reporting against programmes.
• Documenting site progress by taking daily photographs for site records completing daily diaries QA records and progress measures and incorporating them into the monthly reports.
• Other duties as directed by the Project Manager/Site Manager for future responsibilities.
• Promoting and developing a strong safety culture.
• Willingness to work Saturdays.

Skills and Experience:

• Formal civil engineering or construction qualification.
• Previous construction experience in a building or civil environment (Formwork steel fixing and concrete pump & place will be advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years experience.
• RMS and B80 experience will be a distinct advantage.
• Experience with Builders/Principal Contractors.
• Experience working with MS Office MS Excel MS Project and Aconex.
• Initiative and a strong ability to work autonomously independently and with minimal supervision.
• Be selfdriven with the goal of progressing your career.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with clients and inhouse teams.
• Provide support to Site Management and other team members.
• Must have a cando attitude.
• Ability to work to tight schedules and deadlines.
• Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
• Sound technical ability and ability to read and interpret plans drawings & specifications and can communicate the information to the site team.
• Able to work within a team and learn and develop effective communication skills.
