We are hiring a Basic Grade Medical Scientist for a Private Hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine laboratory scientific tasks with the utmost precision and adherence to the Laboratory Departments policies procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Consultant Pathologist Laboratory Manager Senior Medical Scientist and Chief Medical Scientist to implement innovative ideas and methods in alignment with Hospital policy.
- Assist in managing the registration storage and inventory of laboratory reagents and consumables as needed.
- Collaborate with the Pathology Management Team to develop procedures aimed at preventing and managing accidents within the Laboratory area.
- Actively participate in the development of the laboratory information system for the department as needed.
Requirements
- Must be registered with CORU
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science from the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Or
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biomedical Science Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). Or
- Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork Cork Institute of Technology course AND Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Practice.
- Bachelor of Biomedical Science Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) AND BSc (Honours) Biomedical Sciences University College Cork (UCC). (Awarded prior to 2013). Or
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) or the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) (Awarded prior to 1994).
- Experience working in an ISO15189 accredited Medical Laboratory.
