DevOps Observability Engineer

Job Role: DevOps Observability Engineer Banking

Location: Parsippany New Jersey

Job Description:
The DevOps Observability Engineer will play an integral role in our IT department. The ideal candidate will work closely with our development and operations teams to design implement and maintain observability solutions for our banking systems. This includes monitoring logging tracing and alerting systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain monitoring telemetry and reporting systems.
2. Provide insights into system performance and reliability.
3. Collaborate with development teams to ensure system scalability and reliability.
4. Drive incident resolution and conduct postmortem analysis to prevent future incidents.
5. Continuously improve our observability stack and practices.
6. Develop and maintain system health dashboards and reports.
7. Guide and assist developers in the instrumentation of code and services for observability purposes.
8. Coordinate with external vendors when necessary.
9. Adhere to strict regulatory compliance standards of the banking industry.

Requirements:

1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps role preferably in the banking or financial industry.
3. Strong knowledge of observability practices and tools.
4. Experience with log management systems APM tools and distributed tracing systems.
5. Proficiency in programming languages like Python Java or Go.
6. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS GCP or Azure.
7. Strong understanding of system metrics operational data and logging.
8. Exceptional problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
10. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
