As the Head of Geography you will be responsible for leading the geography department developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning. Responsibilities

• Lead manage and mentor a team of Geography teachers providing guidance and support for their professional development
• Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging geography curriculum
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department
• Build positive relationships with staff students and parents to foster a supportive learning environment
• Manage department resources and budget effectively
• Stay updated with the latest developments in geography education

Requirements

• A degree in Geography or a related field
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and preferably a postgraduate qualification in education or leadership
• Proven experience as a Geography teacher with a track record of delivering exceptional results
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
• Excellent knowledge of the geography curriculum and assessment requirements
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Experience in a leadership role in a school setting would be advantageous
