SALES TAX SPECIALIST

RESPONSIBILITIES
Research sales and use tax laws and regulations apply relevant laws to company transactions and
recommend changes in company procedures to ensure compliance.
Communicate sales and use tax law changes to the organization on a timely basis.
Participate in sales and use tax audits collect and analyze required documentation and respond to auditor
inquiries.
Assist with preparation and filing of accurate and timely monthly quarterly and annual sales and use tax
returns.
Manage the process of sales tax refunds including the initiation tracking and timely resolution of refund
requests.
Communicate and collaborate with relevant taxing authorities when appropriate.
Manage sales and use tax exemption certificates including the verification organization and maintenance of
accurate records.
Train and support others in the organization on sales and use tax compliance and procedures.
Occasional travel to other Steffes Group locations as needed.
Assist with other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance is strongly preferred but relevant work experience may be
considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 24 years of relevant experience
Strong understanding of sales & use tax regulations throughout the United States
Fluent with Excel & other Microsoft Office products
Strong interpersonal & professional communication skills
Keen attention to detail ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Professional demeanor paired with a strong work ethic.
Ability to work both independently and closely with a team.
Strong working computer knowledge and ability to navigate several platforms simultaneously.
