Manufacturing Engineer

Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an established manufacturing company specialized in the aerospace and defense industry.

The ideal candidate has 3 years experience working with CNC manufacturing and measuring processes. Ideally aerospace or related industry preferred. You have working knowledge associated with gears such as heat treat carburizing nitridng and copper masking. Must have the ability to estimate machining times and the costing of processes.

What you will do:

Responsible for developing manufacturing processes equipment/tooling alternatives sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel material machines and facilities necessary for the production of gears shafts and other related components.

• Responsible for gear manufacturing process development and definition estimated costing.
  
• Human factors consideration in development.
  
• Efficient process and material flow.
  
• Reading and interpretation of complex blueprints and associated specifications.
  
• Process design construction integration installation successful launch and continuous improvement of CNC equipment and tools required for the production of high quality gears shafts and associated components.
  
• Providing technical direction and oversight of outside vendor sources for gears gear blanks and related components.
  
• Providing technical direction and oversight of inhouse manufacturing operations to ensure the successful production of high quality components.
  

Requirements

• Bachelors degree with major in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  
• Experience with the management of capital projects
  
• Proven ability in project management skills.
  
• Strong technical knowledge and abilities in process engineering disciplines
  
• Technical knowledge / experience in the areas of cylindrical grinding gear grinding (profile or generative) and/or heat treatment.
  
• Able to demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
  
• Ability to solve problems and create effective relationships with customers operators outside suppliers and fellow engineers.
  
• Able to establish routings methods layouts tools costs methods documentation quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations.
  
• Able to implement cost reduction quality safety and ergonomic improvement ideas.
  
• Able to assist in specifying the procurement of gear and shaft manufacturing equipment tools and gages.
  

OTHER

• Experience in recommending planning implementing process flow and manufacturing cell design a plus.
  
• ERP system knowledge Epicore9 a plus.
  
• Ability to involve development and testing of advanced process technology.
  
• Ability to mentor other engineers.
  
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
