PS PHE Teacher with possible Extra Curricular Activities Support

Reporting to: Head of Primary School

To excel in this role the ideal candidate should possess a diverse range of qualities competencies and experience. An IB PHE teacher should be a versatile and inspirational educator proficient in delivering a comprehensive inclusive conceptual and inquirybased curriculum. They should be a dynamic teacher a lifelong learner a motivator and an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills as well as an outstanding ability to prepare students to acquire 21stcentury skills in a challenging and wellorganized learning environment. This individual should be committed to delivering highquality teaching and learning making effective use of resources and ensuring improved standards of learning and achievement for all students.

Qualifications and Experience.

1.1 Possess qualified teacher status appropriate to the teaching duties to be undertaken.

1.2 Strongly desired: have 2 years of teaching experience in the IB PYP at least one IB PYP workshop completed and strong background in designing or facilitating extracurricular activities

1.3 Holds updated certifications

Knowledge and Skills.

2.1 Demonstrate alignment with the ISL Qatar values of belonging grit kindness and integrity.

2.2 Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English within an international school setting.

2.3 Exhibit a high level of understanding of current research on how children learn and the ability to motivate students to perform at their best.

2.4 Inspire diverse culture with mixed ability classes through differentiated instruction and a variety of teaching styles creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.

2.5 Provide support for student needs in learning and pastoral matters.

2.6 Be familiar with the principles of Conceptual Learning and Assessment for Learning.

2.7 Demonstrate proficiency in teaching PHE.

2.8 Maintain a high level of awareness of current developments in the IB PYP

2.9 Actively participate in an expanding IB school particularly contributing to the development of team spirit within the specific subject area.

2.10 Exhibit the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.

Responsibilities.

3.1 Implement IB policy and strategic plans.

3.2 Effectively collaborate with the IB PHE team and curriculum leaders to foster a coherent IB curriculum to specified classes including selecting and efficiently managing resources in the classroom.

3.3 Actively participate in designing developing implementing and reviewing the IB PHE subject curriculum.

3.4 Implement teaching learning assessment and reporting approaches effectively.

3.5 Enthusiastically participate in the school s professional development and contribute to regular staff training and meetings.

3.6 Prioritize the health and safety of assigned classes.

3.7 Promote and foster team spirit within the school and develop strong connections with colleagues across various school departments.

3.8 Support and contribute to school community service and global citizenship goals.

3.9 Participate in and contribute to the extracurricular activities program of the school.
