Mechanical Engineer

• Coordinate with the suppliers to improve the quality of raw materials qualify new vendors and assist in process changes or new product development
  
• Lead the design development testing and analysis of advanced technology gas turbine engines considering cost performance operability and reliability
  
• Design develop test and analyze advanced operability reliability and emissions working as a member of a design team
  
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications against physical parts to investigate nonconformances and effectively document and communicate findings
  
• Analyze internal and external qualify data to identify high impact and recurring defect modes to drive meaningful corrective actions
  
• Determine root cause of nonconformances and implement corrective actions both internally and externally
  
• Maintain familiarity with manufacturing processes and practices in order to continuously improve manufacturing quality
  
• Technical evaluation of Gas Turbine components assessing the existing designs and condition of equipment to develop technical recommendations for cost effective solutions
  
• Implement modern design tools and develop improved design methods and tools to continually advance our clients competitiveness and product integrity.
  
• Interface with vendors to keep up to date on technology advancements that can be applied to reduce costs or increase performance and / or reliability
  
• Communicate technical requirements and background with customers through service bulletins documentation and customer meetings
  
• Enhance mechanical system records and documentation to improve ongoing service operations
  

Requirements

• Masters or BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a fouryear accredited college or university.
• 3 years of experience as a Gas Turbine or Turbo Machinery
  
• Unigraphics (UG) experience
  
• CAD/CAE System
  
• Support Cell Goals for Continuous Improvement through Six Sigma and Lean methodology and by coaching Quality Thursday ideas generated by technicians
  
• Prepare and present cell quality data weekly to plant leadership including progress towards quality targets current challengers and corrective actions
