This is a NEW position in a NEW operation; the goal of this position is to be the GM for the region (if you like) or a senior Super. We are a fencing manufacture and looking not to rely on Amazon Wayfair Home Depot etc and go directly to consumer. We believe we can better serve our customers by going direct to better live our mission Safety Made Easy. While this is a new position in a new division you will have the full support of the whole operational arm of the company ranging from sales/quote > scheduling > HR/compliance/payroll > customer service etc. You will be the head person in charge of all inperson activities (activities that cannot be done remotely and must be done in person). You will have no one else to report inperson and is pretty much your own boss (you will still report remotely go the CEO < you might see him in person initially; the COO & VP of Operation/Backoffice COO). CR Fence & Rail is a very much result driven company and we do not micromanage (so this job is right for the right person; because no one is going to tell you what to do still with great freedom comes great responsiblities << you will be graded by whether the job gets done or not).
The Fence Superintendent Manages subordinate foreman who supervise employees in the Fence Installation Division Is responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of this division. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing all company safety policies. The Fence Superintendent plays an important role by making sure that all workmanship and materials are installed to highest possible industry standards and is responsible for all field related customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Subject Matter Expert for everything related to the code compliant fence & railing installation
- You are THE person who holds ALL the knowledge (theres no one else in the company thats the backstop; the buck stops at YOU when it comes to actually installing the fence & rail)
- Expert knowledge on installation of wood metal (our products) chainedlink vinyl fencing (NO masonry) metal railing (our products)
- Creating SOP and QC checklist for installation by the installer/foreman
- Local permit & property line/blue print reading
- Productivity & QC review (Creating SOP to help with scheduling and budgeting time
2) Deal with the inperson people training / issues operational logistics
- Ensure the job gets done on time & on budget (job of the foreman but this is a teamwork; the role here is daily calibration with foreman on status and issue resolution)
- Ensure we have the right people hired
- Ensure the people are properly trained on for both the JOB INSTALL customer interaction (relating to showing up on time manners with customer cleaning up the job site once done doing the checkout / EOD procedures etc.)
- Create a pay grade guide for installer (depending on knowledge job experience readiness level)
- Create a readiness guide/testing (so Backoffice can test/quiz/train a new person to be ready; so once the person show up on the jobsite we know the person might be 60/70/80% ready)
- Hire and supervise foreman
- Organize (or actually do) the pick up of materials (unless Backoffice can have it delivered to job site)
- Ensure we have the right tools
- Can use our work truck (F450 dully)
3) Create & document the inperson operational logistics
- The Backoffice can help to the extend we have the process documented & task handed off. While theres a whole team of people who is willing & ready to help this can ONLY happen when we can standardize SOP & empower the Backoffice to do their job to help you & rest of the installation team.
- Quoting/profitability pricing knowledge (our Backoffice will do this but will require local/inperson/market knowledge
- Cost knowledge
- including where to buy materials/distributor setup
- Bottomline Ensure the profitability of each job (Backoffice will provide the profitability down to each JOB tracking)
- There is a company gain share bonus program that EVERYONE in company is part of (most important thing is a) you know about the profitability and b) we are not losing money)

- The hardware requirements for this level are higher than the basic level and a midrange computer or laptop will be required.
Additional Information:
Role Requirements:
- MUST have a contractor license (preferably Utah Landscape & Recreation (S330) Contractor License) << you WILL be the principal contractor for operations (here the goal is you will be the General Manager eventually once we have more than 1 city/location).
Role Exclusion:
- Day to Day Paperwork (however you will have to review the QC report generated by our Backoffice via the submission by installers/foreman)
- Marketing/sales
- Customer service/support (however you will have to deal/address/remediate with any issues once customer report/complains to our customer service team)
- HR paperwork/payroll (however you will have to do the final interview)
- Initial onboarding/training (however you will have to do on the job/on site readiness evaluation and any remediation training)
- Job posting/advertising (however you will have to help calibrate the job description pay etc. with our Backoffice HR team)
- Quoting/collecting payments

Recruitment Process
