Job Details
- Shift: Days 810 hours Monday to Friday 40hrs/week
- Work Location: Onsite; Palo Alto CA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients with visionrelated issues.
- Documenting patient history including ocular and systemic health.
- Assisting in or performing diagnostic tests such as visual acuity tests tonometry and visual field testing.
- Administering eye drops or medications as prescribed.
- Providing education to patients and their families about eye conditions treatment options and preventive measures.
- Collaborating with ophthalmologists optometrists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Administering ophthalmic medications and ensuring proper dosage and timing.
- Providing care for patients posteye surgery including wound care and monitoring for complications.
- Advocating for the needs and preferences of patients to ensure their comfort and satisfaction with care.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records including assessments interventions and outcomes.
- Responding to emergencies or adverse reactions during procedures or treatments.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of care within the Vision Department.
Requirements
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution. (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- RN Registered Nurse
- BLS Basic Life Support
Experience
- Previous clinical experience as a registered nurse is typically required. Experience in a relevant specialty such as ophthalmology or eye care is highly desirable.
