Weekly Hours FT: 3040 hours per week

Overall Position Summary and Objectives: Seeking a scientist with experience in developmental neuroscience brain sex differences and machine learning of transcriptomics data for examination of the brainplacenta axis. Specific tasks include performing sample preparation for immunolabeling including iDISCO and imaging including 3D rodent brain imaging; cell culture preparation of placental tissue from humans and rodents; data analysis and preparation of manuscripts based on results and findings; and communicating results and findings. Under this task order contractor will independently provide program coordination to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the NIEHS.

• Extraction of RNA DNA and proteins fectioning of rodent brain rom tissue samples
• Cryosectioning of rodent brain tissue and placenta including micropunch
• Demonstrated experience in immunohistochemistry procedures including iDISCO and 3D imaging
• Detecting and quantifying gene expression
• Some experience in machine learning and cell culture
• Understanding of developmental neuroscience
• Rodent behavioral testing dosing and necropsy

• Supports the planning and execution of research experiments in the context of the laboratorys overall research program.
• Supports laboratory staff on research projects and techniques.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and the training of others in their use.
• Assists in maintaining adequate space and facilities for ongoing and projected research studies.
• Evaluates analyzes and interprets research data communicates results and methods in reports presentations and manuscripts.
• Coordinates with junior staff to modify research protocols.
• Provides interpretation of results guidance and scientific support to the management team.
