Title: Release Operations Engineer (2 openings!)

Location: Hybrid Schedule 3 days a week onsite in Woonsocket RI (every Tues Wed Thur the team is onsite together).

Background Check:

Hours / Shift: First 40 hours / week

Notes: It can be as quickly as take a few days and up to 2 weeks to confirm a start date for candidates after they accept the verbal as the ITERR form approval process moves through the internal course

Must Haves:

• 5 years Java J2EE Development
• 4 years of Production technical support
• PL/SQL
• Knowledge about transactional systems is mandatory
• Adept in the development of automated tools systems and services in multiple technology domains with excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills
• Exposure to monitoring tool such as Splunk ELK and AppD.
• Strong business acumen communication and presentation skills.
• Previous experience on an IT Application support team that provided front line technical support to end users responding to issues related to Problem/Incident Management Release/Deployment Operational Readiness Application Monitoring Production Governance related to issues.
• Understanding of ITIL and ITSM frameworks.
• Understanding of the software delivery lifecycle Agile

Day to day:

• Formal scope of role is a Release Operation Engineer and at a high level they will troubleshoot issues in production environments
• Implement ITIL best practices resulting in quicker more accurate service to the customers.
• Ensure Client SLAs are met Manage deliverables for critical applications by working with Business users and understand the IT/business SLAs
• Troubleshoot Major Incidents involving and engaging all necessary teams create post mortems and ensure closure of incident
• Respond to user issues working with the Development team or external support teams for the resolution.
• Defect management fixes and finding the root cause post new software deployment.
• Contribute to and maintain support knowledge base.
• Monitor system for possible issues performing system health checks as required
• Work closely with development & IT infrastructure teams to incorporate checklist and validate the steps as part of maintenance activity
• Monitor and support production applications and environments
• Document and maintain installation and operations procedures.
• Participate in deployment and configuration management activities.
• Research issues to ensure service level agreements are met and research application data and database related issues
• Collaborate with Dev/L3s on incidents/issue triages and release/change review meetings as well as identify enhancements for application platform stabilization.
• Participate in the 24x7 support coverage as on when required Manager is putting together details for me of how exactly this works and what to expect. I will share once I have it!
