Cloud Native Database Administrator
Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Cloud Native Database Administrator with a primary focus on running and scaling Cassandra MongoDB and MySQL on Kubernetes platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloudnative principles strong expertise in managing diverse database technologies and a proven track record of optimizing database performance within Kubernetes environments.
Responsibilities:
Database Architecture and Implementation:
Design implement and maintain cloudnative database solutions with a primary emphasis on Cassandra MongoDB and MySQL.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of databases into Kubernetes environments.
Database Administration:
Manage and optimize the performance of Cassandra MongoDB and MySQL databases on Kubernetes.
Implement and enforce security best practices for database systems ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Conduct routine database maintenance including backups patching and upgrades.
Kubernetes Integration:
Deploy configure and scale databases within Kubernetes clusters.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate database deployments and streamline operational processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to database performance and availability in Kubernetes.
Performance Tuning:
Perform performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal database responsiveness and efficiency.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks in database systems implementing solutions to enhance overall performance.
Automation and Scripting:
Develop automation scripts and tools for routine database tasks within a Kubernetes environment.
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through automation.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align database configurations with the broader cloudnative architecture.
Provide technical support and guidance to development and operations teams as needed.
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations procedures and troubleshooting guidelines.
Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team to foster a collaborative and informed work environment.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.
Experience:
Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Cassandra MongoDB and MySQL.
Handson experience deploying and managing databases within Kubernetes environments.
Proficiency in database query optimization and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of cloudnative principles and best practices.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
