Supply Management Internship

Seeking a full time Engineer (2 - 10 years EIT or PE). Experience in water and wastewater treatment and processes is preferred. This position will coordinate with and be supervised by a Project Manager. As an engineer with our firm, you will work with other engineering disciplines within a project team and assist in planning, design development, calculations, cost estimates, presentations, and overall project development for a variety of projects. This includes but is not limited to: performing all necessary calculations for preliminary design and detailed design of a variety of projects, preparing reports, plans and specifications for projects, reviewing construction submittals, and conducting field inspections under the supervision of a project engineer. This is a key position in our office and requires particular attention to detail, a thorough understanding of engineering design principles, and the ability to effectively work within a team and independently. Basic Qualifications:

Civil/Environmental degree from an accredited engineering program is required.

• Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) is a minimum requirement.
• California PE license and/or Masters Degree are a plus.
  • AutoCAD, Microstation, or Revit for drafting of construction drawings
  • ArcGIS mapping
  • InfoWater/InfoSewer for hydraulic modeling
  • BioWIN for wastewater treatment process modeling
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Self-motivated individual who is willing to work effectively as part of a team or independently as required by individual project needs.

Ability and willingness to perform both office and field work as needed, with some travel

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Knowledge and understanding of design and construction industry standard practices, codes, drawings, specifications of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure

• We have a relaxed culture. No dress code (within reason and if not meeting with a client). People can speak openly and frankly and we have a very flat organizational feel where you can just walk into one of the original owner s office and ask questions, etc. Not a corporate feel at all. We are still only 100 people company wide. Roseville office has 10 employees right now.
• Our standard is get the work done, and do it well , not work 8-5 . We are flexible on work schedule.

• As a small company , we do a huge range of types of work within civil engineering. Water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution, sewer, design, planning, modeling, and even construction inspection. If someone is pigeon-holed at a larger company, that won t happen here. We do too many things and have a small enough team for that to happen. We also do cutting edge stuff that larger companies in the area do, and we regularly beat those companies out on projects because of our reputation as being nimble, responsive, creative-thinking, more cost efficient, and risk-taking.
• Compensation approach is pretty significantly different than most of the larger firms:
  • Bonus Program: we have moved from an end-of-year approach to up front monthly additional bonus payments, which are adjustable based on performance, so you are not waiting until Christmas to get it in a larger lump sum
  • Although salaried, we pay overtime. This is in addition to bonus. So if you work 45 hours in a week, you get 5 hours of either PTO added to your bank, or you can pay it out every couple of months. If you get stuck working a 60 hour week, you will be immediately compensated for that.
• A superstar can quickly rise into project management and possibly ownership. Some of our leaders that have joined the firm 7-10+ years ago have became an owners. The standard is self-sufficiency. If you can win work, and profitably execute work under your own supervision without the support of another owner, you can become one. Its almost like starting your own business without starting completely from scratch.
