Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of our packing house equipment and machinery, as well as all other systems associated with a packing facility such as refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, packing equipment and general building maintenance and repair. The Maintenance Manager will assist with overseeing our robust maintenance/tech department and will manage a large group of maintenance team members.
Essential Duties:
- Manage a large team of skilled employees
- Oversee and actively manage a substantial maintenance budget
- Executed professional project management and critical-path scheduling
- Manage key outside vendors and service providers, including costs
- Minimize recurring problems that arise during operations
- Manage inventory costs and inventory levels for spare parts
Required Qualifications:
- Outstanding leadership and organization abilities
- Ability to communicate with management effectively
- Knowledge of critical-path scheduling and project management
- Knowledge of different power transmission systems such as roller chain drives, v- belt drives, and gearboxes
- Knowledge of electrical power systems and electrical control systems; single-phase and three phase circuits
- Knowledge of electrical control circuits and automation utilizing PLCs and other types of controllers
- Knowledge of different types of sensors and switches: pushbuttons, limit switches, proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, temperature switches & sensors, pressure switches & sensors, and encoders
- Able to read equipment manuals, equipment drawings, and electrical schematics to troubleshoot problems and/or perform required maintenance and service
- Setting up and operating of various shop equipment e.g., drill press, grinders, band saws, hydraulic press and other common tools
- Basic metal fabrication including welding skills for Stainless and Mild Steel; TIG, MIG and Stick welding Physical Requirements
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Ability to work all assigned work schedules, including nights, weekends, or holidays as necessary
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Additional certifications in relevant areas (welding, refrigeration, etc.)
- Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch and reach above the shoulder.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
