Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
- Enhanced knowledge of domestic violence and abuse issues including so-called ‘honour’-based abuse, the DA Act 2020, research, guidance and legislation relating to adults and children, including for example the Children’s Act 2004, the Care Act 2014 and the Equality Act 2010;
- An understanding of the role and context of the main agencies likely to be involved in the review.
- Able to sensitively engage with families/friends to involve them in the review process and manage their expectations through the duration of reviews.
- Managerial expertise. Strategic vision so that opportunities are identified to link in and inform local and national strategies.
- Good investigative, analytical, listening, interviewing, report writing and communication skills.
- Good facilitation/enabling skills with a non-judgemental approach.
- An understanding of the discipline regimes within participating agencies. An understanding of wider statutory review frameworks such as child or adult reviews.
