For our client the company CSL Behing in Bern we are looking for a Senior Scientist (m/f/d).

Scientist / Senior Scientist analytical method development and product characterization

The Bioanalytical Science Department (BAS) of R&D Plasma Product Development (PPD) is currently seeking a Scientist/Senior Scientist with experience in protein mass spectrometry. This is a great opportunity to apply a strong background in protein mass spectrometry to exciting interdisciplinary projects working in a collaborative team environment on stateoftheart instrumentation. The successful candidate will develop and conduct proteomics analyses including automated robotic sample preparation. Moreover the candidate will execute already available multiattribute method (MAM) workflows according to SOPs for protein characterization.

In this position an extensive knowledge of stateoftheart proteomics workflows is required to deliver phaseappropriate analytical assays and to support enhanced product characterization. Moreover scientific enthusiasm creativity handson laboratory experience and commitment will be essential for the successful achievement of team and organizational goals and timelines.

Tasks

• Responsible for designing and performing experiments as well as for interpreting results from modern LCMS techniques to support characterization of new plasmaderived products and commercialized products.
• Development execution and analysis of proteomics methods.
• Execution of already implemented MS MAM methods.
• Development and implementation of methods according to analytical quality by design principles and phaseappropriate qualification according to project and product demands.
• Author lab procedures protocols reports and SOPs for internal and/or external partners. Present at internal and external seminars and conferences.
• Responsible for instruments operation troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Collaborate with group members and cross functional teams to support analytical studies process development and other studies. Ensure close collaboration with other local and global CSL functions across the proper network.

Requirements

• Master with 3 years of LCMS experience or Ph.D. in biological sciences biophysics or analytical chemistry with relevant LCMS experience.
• Indepth theoretical and handson experience both with mass spectrometry and analytical LC and nano LC operation.
• Handson experience with proteomics methods; in depth knowledge of proteomics data analysis.
• Experience with Orbitrap mass spectrometry is a plus.
• Experience with Byos/Byosphere software for data analysis is a plus.
• Experience with sample preparation robots is a plus.
• Good understanding of scientific process including hypothesis development and experimental design (DoE) with ability to capture and record complex scientific data accurately and reliably.
• Proficient English verbal and written communication skills with ability to work independently and in a team environment.
