Seeking a Purchasing Manager for a leading energy construction company.

The ideal candidate has 5 years experience purchasing construction related products along with managing a team. This candidate must possess training and team building procedures.

What you will do:
  • Manage the Purchasing Team to ensure quality and effectiveness on all departmentrelated tasks; training the team on all needed information and procedures.
  • Work closely with other internal departments such as Estimating and Operations to understand the interworking s of the project needs; participate in kickoff meetings.
  • Work with Data Analysts to produce statistics and metrics to create and provide all necessary reporting.
  • Analyze levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs per location.
  • Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value delivery schedules and quality; while creating and maintaining healthy relationships with all parties involved.
  • Negotiating subcontractor agreements and checking the quality of service provided.
  • Working closely with other internal departments such as Estimating and Operations to understand the interworking s of the project needs; participate in kickoff meetings.
  • Assist with and/or lead an effective problem solving and troubleshooting method when issues arise.
  • Work with Data Analysts to produce statistics and metrics to create and provide all necessary reporting.
  • Travel and attend meetings and conferences based off the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing small groups of employees.
  • Proven negotiation and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills. With the ability to multitask.
  • Detail oriented conceptual/analytical thinking and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Viewpoint a plus.
