Software Architect

Description

This position will be in support of the NYS Tax Modernization Program for the nonstrategic application remediation initiative. This consists of more than 160 applications which must be rearchitected designed and developed using a strategic direction. This position requires an expert level candidate to lead the architecting and solutioning of this initiative.

Duties

• Assist in prioritizing the design and development effort.
• Oversee the design of each application to ensure it follows the strategic plan.
• Guide the design and development teams.
• Ensure the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is followed.
• Coordinating technical solutions among various technical support groups.
• Implementing technical solutions.

Mandatory Requirements

• Experience (12 Years)
• Makes highlevel design choices and dictates technical standards including software coding standards tools and platforms. Designs multileveled architecture or component interactions of a largescale software system.

Requirements

• This is an 100% Onsite
• 84 months of experience in in a leadership role where the candidate has consistently managed teams of more than 25 people in an IT environment overseeing complex projects and ensuring successful delivery.
• 84 Months of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent specifically handling responsibilities such as system development life cycle management IT service provisioning and application infrastructure.
• 84 Months of experience in managing T projects such as enterprisewide system implementations with a strong emphasis on application architecture and development in languages like Java .NET and Cobol.
• 84 Months of Software development experience in Cobol Java or .NET technologies.
• 84 Months of experience in project coordination specializing in leading technology or common service teams for significant projects within state or government financial organizations.
• 84 Months of experience with IBM software which includes WebSphere Application Server (WAS) COBOL IBM DB2 IBM MQSeries JCL and IBM DataStage).
• 84 Months of experience in leading continuity of operations programs and disaster recovery plans particularly in highstakes largescale operational environments.
• 84 months of experience with a Government Taxation organization which includes business knowledge technical design development maintenance and end user support of complex Tax Return processing.
