Senior Finance Accountant

Role overview

As Senior Accountant you will be a key member of the finance and accounting team responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, and ensuring compliance with VAT and other tax regulations. You will requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial management. The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in providing financial insights, aiding decision-making, and contributing to the organization's overall fiscal health.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain and update the organization's financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

- Payroll Management: Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, including calculating employee salaries, deductions, and tax withholdings, and ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time.

- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including income tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes. Prepare and submit tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.

- Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits. Provide necessary documentation and explanations, ensuring a smooth audit process.

- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions.

- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

- Expense Management: Monitor and control expenses, reviewing expenditures and identifying areas for cost control.

- Cash Management: Manage the organization's cash flow by monitoring and forecasting cash needs and optimizing cash resources.

- Financial Policies and Controls: Develop, implement, and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.

- Ad Hoc Reporting: Generate and present financial reports and analyses as requested by senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Proven track record in accounting, demonstrating expertise.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
