This role assists with all aspects of the tax function for a growing publicly traded organization that is slowly growing internationally.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with coordination and review of federal and state income tax compliance, including collecting and providing data for 3rd party tax preparers
- Assist with quarter-end and annual tax provision for audit firm review, including percentage depletion calculation and prep of tax account roll forwards
- Prepare various transaction tax returns for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings
- Coordinate with and support other U.S. Silica personnel throughout all businesses to respond to inquiries and requests for information
- Research, interpret, and follow state, local, and federal tax laws and regulations
- Assist with maintaining and leading tax-related internal controls, including assisting with updating internal controls as needed
- Assist with the preparation of responses to tax authorities and provide support with handling tax audits
- Maintain fixed assets in fixed asset software, including preparation of tax depreciation
- Maintain tax calendar
- Maintain Tax Reform technical knowledge as it pertains to our structure by leading current developments and changes to tax laws
- Assist with due diligence for potential acquisitions, when appropriate
- Special projects as assigned
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor s Degree in Accounting
- CPA license
- Master s in Taxation preferred
- 6+ years of tax experience preferably in a combination of Public and industry
- Experience completing corporate and/or partnership tax returns
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; JDE a plus
- Work independently and in a team
