The company is expanding creating vacancies forData Comms/Data Cable Engineers at all levels.The roles will primarily be based at clients sites around London. Experienced engineers will be responsible for carrying out surveys, data cable installs including racks & cabinets. They must also be comfortable working across hospital and railway environment and must have a valid CSCS/ECS.There is potential for growth and an opportunity to earn more depending on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out surveys, data cable installs including racks & cabinets, fault finding, general health & safety.
Desirable experience/licence/certification
- Knowledge & experience with the installation, termination and troubleshooting of telephony cabling, Supervisory skills and experience, Sentinel with ICI, NVQ or CNCI in Structured Cabling, Full UK driving licence
Requirements
- A background in structured cabling
- A minimum of 1-2 years field engineering experience in both Cat 5/5e/6/6a & fibre installation, terminating and testing
- 1-2 years experience in containment, racks, and cabinets
- Knowledge & experience setting up and using a Fluke DSX 8000 tester/ OTDR or Lantek III & IV
- Be able to work as part of a team and independently
- Highly motivated
- Good communicator
- Be flexible to work nights (engineering hours) and weekends
- Should be willing to be CRB or DBS checked
- ECS/CSCS

Manage end to end structured cabling projects safely, on time, & within budget Deliver projects from implementation through to handover Attend and host regular meetings with peers and client Manage account s day to day health & safety, environmental & general staff wellbeing Audit site, complete technical documentation and upload documents on to share point Mentor Junior Project Managers, Shift Managers and assist with company operations Manage client expectations and ensure deadlines are met Manage employees performance, carry out regular one 2 ones, and appraisals Report teams absence & disciplinary issues through companies HRM system Compile RAMS and submit to Workforce Planning Manager/HSQE manager for approval within the required time frame (a minimum of 48 hours prior to work commencing) Apply for Permits and Space applications with the relevant bodies Liaise with operations for resources, training & logistics required Liaise with the HSQE manager and ensure company complies with current CDM Complete and submit Bill of Materials (form) to Logistics Department within the required time frame (a minimum of 72 hours prior to desired delivery date) Carry out incident follow up actions when required Trouble shoot site issues for Lead Engineers when possible Consult with SPCs daily on all projects if applicable Handover test results/drawings and completion of works certificate Cooperate with employer to enable compliance with the law Attend Managers Meetings as and when required Required to work day shifts or night shifts (engineering hours) as per project requirement
