About the Role:
The Financial Analyst role is expected to assist with 3 to 4 appraisals per month, in a supportive role, providing analysis within the client s excel-based valuation model and analyzing company-provided data to uncover emerging trends and verify
Responsibilities:
Manipulate, analyze and input data in the client s valuation model:
- Perpetual inventory ledger/SKU file
- Financial statements
- Historical sales and profit reporting by SKU and category
- Operating expense files
- Borrowing base files
Analyze data for the following:
- Excess inventory by SKU
- Inventory turnover
- Inventory aging
- Inventory balance reconciliation between balance sheet, perpetual inventory and borrowing base reporting
- Historical inventory trending
- Sales and profit trending by product category
- Reconciliation between income statement gross profit and detailed product revenue files
- Review and identification of operating expenses necessary for appraisal model
Effectively sets priorities and works in an organized manner while managing multiple moving deadlines
Perform due diligence, monitoring and communicating open items with subject company to ensure compliance
Maintain internal communication with deal team as well as external communication with client/company contact
Perform industry research applicable to particular projects as well as maintain database of information related to specific industry
Performs management interviews and site visits as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree in Business, with a concentration in Finance, Economics or Math preferred
- Experience in retail merchandise planning buying, wholesale, or manufacturing background is a plus and translates well to this position
- Advanced knowledge of financial statements and understanding of accounting terms and retail terminology
- Detail-oriented, able to effectively manage time, strong planning skills, and excellent analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel operations
