We are looking for a Sr. Accountant who specializes in construction and has strong general ledger exp. This is a great opportunity to work with one of the leading General Contractors in the Bay Area.
Day-to-day activities include: - Preparing financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Manage monthly reconciliations
- Manage deadline-drivenmonthly, quarterly, and annual close process,
- Oversee all general ledger accounting activity as well as lead the revenue recognition process
- Manage the percentage of completion method including the WIP reconciliation,
- Assist with the preparation of the audit schedules and year-end audit work papers in partnership with the external CPA firm,
- Provide audit support for various insurance, project owner or partners, and state and local agencies as needed,
- Perform daily Accounts Payable tasks including interaction and communication with vendors,accurate cash flow reporting on a monthly basis,
- Prepare monthly cash forecast reports
- Generate multiple owner billing using Viewpoint on a monthly basis,
- Provide support withad hoc reporting and special projects as requested by upper management,
- Budget maintenance and variance reporting.
What we are looking for: - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Construction industry experience is a must
- Experience in preparing financial statements and a solid understanding of the month-end close process and related reconciliations to subsidiary records,
- Prior exposure to the construction industry and percentage of completion accounting,
- Experience with Viewpoint or Vista software
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
- Public Accounting experience in an auditing role is a plus,
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista Construction software and/or Procore,
- Writing custom reports via Crystal Reports, SSRS or PowerBI.
