Duties & Responsibilities:
- The porter driver is responsible for welcoming and orientating all guests arriving at the hotel.
- Responsible for maintaining standards in accordance to standard operation procedures issued by the company.
- He/she must be responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy, neat and clean working environment.
- Must be responsible and ensure the proper handling of all equipment as well as ensuring its cleanliness and state of maintenance.
- Report all hazards and risks to management.
- Be familiar with workplace policies, rules and standard operating procedures.
- To receive and park cars for hotel guests, contract customers, other customers and authorised staff upon their arrival at the hotel.
- Must have a strong rapport with guests and non guests using the hotel parking facilities.
- Report any accidents immediately to the manager on duty and the security department.
- Welcome guests and direct them to reception.
- To load and unload luggage from vehicles
- Open doors to all vehicles arriving at the hotel.
- Protect and offer guests assistance against inclement weather at the entrance to the hotel.
- If and only when necessary escort guests to the hotel parking area.
- Ensure safety of guest luggage left in your care by storing it in the porters lodge and issuing a receipt to the guest.
- Familiarise and know the names and special requirements of regular return guests.
- Be 100% familiar with all transfers booked in the transfer book at the concierge desk.
- Collect guests from specified pick-up points and transfer to hotel.
- Transfer guests from hotel to specific drop-off points.
- Must have accurate knowledge and understanding of hotel and resort facilities and services.
- Must be able to assist guests with information and answer questions and resolve guest problems.
