Senior DevOps Engineer at Ground Control

Ground Control (GC) is the UK s largest external maintenance and commercial landscaping company. We have an opening for a Senior DevOps Engineer. The primary focus of this role will be to lead the design and implementation of a highly-automated software delivery process using your previous experience of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, test automation, and configuration management.

Who we are seeking

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will need:

Technical Skills

• Extensive experience of Cloud Platforms, in particular Azure, infrastructure automation technologies such as arm templates and/or terraform.
• Operating within an agile engineering team.
• Solid experience in designing robust infrastructure (cyber security, resilience, high availability, scalability)
• Experience in managing both production and test environments.
• Experience in configuration management for PaaS/IaaS services.
• Extensive experience of networking.
• Extensive experience of CI/CD technologies and processes, including Git/Azure DevOps.
• Deep understanding of Microservice Architectures.

Leadership qualities:

• Past experience of leading small teams.
• Experience of coaching and mentoring.
• Experience of managing individuals to succeed in their roles.
• Experience of process engineering.
• Solid understanding of good governance including reporting, controls, checks and balances and segregation of duties
