Controller / Management Accountant

Air Filters Ltd, based in Cramlington, UK is one of the air filter companies within the AAF International Europe Group and is part of the world's largest air filter company Daikin Industries Ltd. Air filters have been manufactured in Cramlington for over 50 years.

This role will be a key member of the UK Air Filters team. The role will be responsible for the daily finance operations as well as monitoring and reporting the financial position of the business.

We are looking for experienced Controller/Management Accountant

Purpose of the role:

The controller/management accountant position serves as the finance business partner for the local management team. The role includes the timely and accurate closing cycle including reporting to the local management team. This role will work with the management team to ensure adequate internal controls are followed to safeguard the assets of the business. As well as ensuring the accuracy of the companies reported financial results and that they are compliant with general accepted accounting principles, Daikin Ind Ltd policies, and statutory requirements. The role will also drive a culture of continually improving both operating performance and financial processes, while building and maintaining strong relationships with the management team as well as with the European finance organization. This position is exposed to confidential financial statements, product costs and the strategic initiatives of the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for completion of accurate daily, weekly and monthly reporting
• Responsible for accurate and timely month end and year end closing. Including Balance Sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate, timely and complete financial figures. Plus analyzing and reporting to local management and European finance team.
• Provide financial analyses as needed, such as sales & margin analysis, working capital etc
• Identify process gaps, savings, proposed and implement solutions
• Running asset management system
• Jointly responsible for preparation of budget

Knowledge/experience:

• Fully or partly qualified ACCA or CIMA
• 5+ years relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, including International Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as applicable
• Good working experience with ERP systems, SAP experience is a preference,
