Seeking an Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to applies assessment and treatment principles directed toward conserving the health and safety of employees by using a preventative approach in evaluation, health screening, immunization and education. Serves as liaison for work-related injuries/illnesses, fitness for duty and ADA issues between supervisors, employees, physicians, and insurer. Performs pre-placement, annual and DOT physicals. Evaluates and follows on the injuries including lacerations, non-displaced fractures, ocular/soft tissue foreign bodies and other occupational health conditions.
Education: Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Licensure/Certifications: Nurse Practitioner licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) along with a DEA certificate, or Physician Assistant (PA-C) certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners (OBME) required. Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs; Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in hospital's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in employee health or occupational medicine or other health related specialty required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships with all levels of employees and the physician community. Works as a team member and encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers, other departments, and outside agencies. Must have demonstrated knowledge in the areas of health enhancement, health education, and workers' compensation laws.
