Financial Controller

MELD is a start-up that is developing a leading lending and borrowing protocol. We are trying to create real world banking solutions with the main goal of allowing people to take control of their finances to be their own bank.
The Financial Controller is tasked with overseeing all financial activities, reporting on revenue, training accounting staff, budgeting, disbursing funds to departments, managing risk, implementing policies, and improving financial processes. This person is responsible for the company's long-term financial health and growth. They establish strategies that will earn profits, oversee accounting operations, produce accurate reports on where money is going within the business and improve or change current practices to increase efficiency.

Responsibility
General
1. Reports to Founders + C-Suite Executives
2. Collaborates with other D-Suite Executives + Advisors

Finance Management
1. Financial business planning
2. Budgeting and forecasting
3. Monitor cash flow
4. Monitor treasury activity (fiat and digital assets)
5. Interaction with international regulators and tax authorities
6. Implementation and management of all financial activities
7. Ensure adequate capital is available, and properly allocated across the organization to ensure maximum ROI*
8. Provide strategic recommendations to the executive leadership team on both short and long term strategic financial objectives, and advise on business and financial planning
9. Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the business
10. Bridge finance work across departments, including teams working with funds and developing financial products.

Finance Operations
1. Oversee operations, auditing, and reconciliations, as well as interactions with competent authorities in the financial space
2. Develop finance and accounting processes and best practices for team, and onboard teams accordingly
3. Select the most appropriate financial softwares and tools for the firm
4. Digital assets valuation management and reporting over time
5. Embed all processes linked to the Swiss Foundation
6. Embed all processes linked to Lithuanian exchange and Lithuanian banking entity
7. Build efficient processes for revenue recognition
8. Streamline accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and embed an expense management and invoicing system (including development of service agreements and work orders)
9. Manage trade reconciliation processes via a trade ledger tool and by working closely with the trading group*
10. Establish month-end and year-end processes, including preparation and submission of financial statements
11. Manage quarterly consolidated accounts process with the help of an external accounting firm
12. Oversee all treasury functions for both fiat and digital assets.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a strong accounting background (ACCA or CA) and preferably some professional crypto experience with 3+ years of relevant experince.
