Electrical Engineer Direct Hire8: 00am-4: 00pm, Monday through Friday SUMMARY: We are in search of a Program Manager to add to our team. This person will be responsible for design and development of electrical systems and products for use in aerospace applications. This includes performing research, definition, design, verification, validation, and manufacturing support of electrical systems in new and existing products. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design, modify, and evaluate electronic systems, components, and circuitry for use in aircraft environments (high altitudes, high moisture, extreme temperatures).
Design using computer processors, moto controllers, power supplies, filters, and communication interfaces (such as Ethernet, SPI, CAN, ARINC429 and USB).
Design for certification requirements of RTCA/DO-160G such as EMI, ESD, and surge requirements.
Execute trade studies, component selection, and schematic capture of electrical designs.
Manage PCB layout, placement, and fabrication activities with PCB layout resources.
Perform prototyping, characterization, test, RCA, and medication of electrical circuitry.
Perform design verification testing with traceability against hardware requirements.
Generate and maintain electrical design documentation such as electrical block diagrams and BOMs.
Support manufacturing for current designs.
Generate and present technical material to satisfy design review and formal process requirements.
Apply risk management practices to ensure projects are on time, within budget and fulfilling all contractual and technical requirements.
Perform design work under AS9100 QMS processes and in accordance with design and development procedures.
Support regulatory and DO-160G certification testing.
Travel to support test and project needs (Less than 5% travel).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
Five years of engineering experience in product development.
Expertise in hands-on prototyping and use of test equipment such as temperature chambers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read, understand, and comply with written design process requirements.
Self-driven, methodical thinker, able to excel with minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to present technical information in team environment.
Experience in an AS9100 QMS and design gate development process.
Experience with DO-160G electrical and environmental requirements.
Experience with Altium Designer software.
Must follow all safety requirements of the job as outlined in the safety policy.
May be required to handle hazardous waste and follow proper safety procedure for storage and disposal.
Physical Capabilities:While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and/or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
