Principal Software Engineer, Control Plane, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

15 years of experience with distributed systems and architecture.


Experience in technical leadership and setting technical direction for engineering projects.


Technical leadership experience in a software design domain.



Preferred qualifications:

Experience building and owning compliance software at scale leveraging modern techniques and best practices.


Experience in technologies and cloud development platforms.


Understanding of existing and emerging worldwide regulatory compliance laws and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS, NIST, HIPAA, SOX, FedRAMP, etc.).

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum full-time salary range between $288,000 - $310,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. *Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.
Responsibilities

Own and drive regulatory compliance initiatives in the Google Compute Engine (GCE) team and collaborate closely with other executive leaders on initiatives across all of Google Cloud.

Drive technical long term strategy and the implementation and widespread adoption of solutions for Google Cloud.



Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software and user-facing features in Google Cloud products.

Build a team and cultivate innovation by driving cross-collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams.

Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards to increase productivity across product areas.
