Denodo Data Virtualization Developer

The Team:

S&P Global is the leading supplier of Energy Data Solutions for todays interconnected and dynamic global energy landscape. We provide some of the most comprehensive and extensive information, analytics, insight and advisory services in the world.
Within the Commodity Insights division, the Data Integrate teams main focus is integration of diverse data sets using modern tools and technologies like Denodo a data virtualization tool, Postgres database, AWS cloud, Talend- an ETL tool and MarkLogic- a NoSQL database.


The Impact:

As a member of this team, you will be involved in successful data integration and transformation and deliver enhanced and valuable data to our clients and client applications.
You will be working with data virtualization technology to create solutions for data delivery to clients and applications. Critical to the role will be the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and specifications.
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary, experienced and mature team with a pivotal role in S&P Globals ever changing business portfolio. We are looking for a talented new colleague that will thrive in our unique business position and must be eager to take on challenges, love learning, and have a passion for data

Responsibilities:

Analyze and understand the development and business requirements.
Create the necessary views and test for quality in the Denodo Platform according to business requirements.
Design and program procedures to monitor and report on the quality, timeliness, completeness and accuracy of our data content.
Support other development teams with various Denodo questions and offer guidance.
Responsible for operational tasks during business hours.
Work on enhancements and modifications of views to deliver improved data content.

What Were Looking For:

Strong SQL and data modeling knowledge.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Data virtualization experience is an asset.
Query Performance tuning skills.
Strong communication skills with fluent spoken and written English.
Self starter, detail oriented and an independent thinker.
Team player and ability to work in a globally distributed team.
