C/C++ Developer - Remote

Role Overview:

We aspire to hire a strong software developer to help us build a consumer software security solution on the home gateway.An ideal candidate would be adept at C and C++ and have expertise in the Linux platform. He should have a firm understanding of networking concepts and protocols, viz., Layers 2-4. The team will be constantly working across different hardware platforms. A candidate should adapt to learning across new hardware platforms and have a short learning curve for adoption. A prior understanding of the software stack for home gateways, viz., WRT, etc., would be a big plus. We intend to use C and C++ on embedded platforms (predominantly Linux-based) and Lua scripts where applicable. The gateway systems will interact with a server back-end that will support analytics powered by big data systems.We are looking for engineers with strong technical aptitude to be part of our team. This is a remote position in India. We will only consider candidates currently in India and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About the role:

Design and development on embedded platforms using C/C++ on Linux etc.
Creating detailed design specifications
Research and innovation on the embedded platform to find solutions to challenging technical problems.
Participation in Agile Development in the SCRUM method


About You:

48 years of software development experience with hands-on and proficiency in C/C++ on embedded platforms.
2+ years of experience on embedded platforms involving routers, gateways, or other networking-enabled devices.
Sound understanding of networking concepts and configuration layers 2-4, with packet sniffing tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump
Sound understanding of IP tables, routers, bridges and protocols such as DNS, HTTP, SSL
Good expertise in Linux, Scripting, Debugging, and Troubleshooting.
For understanding of firewalls, IDS is preferable.
