Pipe Welder

SMV Recruiting is actively searching for a Pipe Welder for our client in Canastota, NY. Our client is a small well-established fabrication company that works extensively on schools, prisons, and in higher education. They are looking for someone with a minimum of four (4) years of welding experience specifically with pipes and is familiar with MIG/TIG/Stick welding. You would be working in a small team environment and would also be working independently. Our client offers a competitive salary, full benefits, a laid-back environment and zero travel!

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG/TIG/Stick welding on pipes specifically copper, steel, and stainless steel


• Read blueprints and drawings and take/read measurements to plan layout


• Take necessary measurements and fabricate parts based on the blueprints


• Grind and polish weld work as needed


• Welding (link removed) to 36-inch pipes (1-10 inches on average)


• Change hoses, gauges, and repairs


• Use various welding equipment and tools to complete tasks


• Follow safety guidelines and procedures

Requirements

• 4+ years experience with welding, specifically with pipes


• Experience reading and working off blueprints


• Certified or strong knowledge of SMAW/GMAW/GTAW


• Knowledge of MIG, TIG & Stick welding


• Experience working for a mechanical contractor


• Good communication skills


• Able to work independently
