Job Description:

Sr Network Engineer (Security, AWS)

Required Technical Skill Set

Level 3 Network Engineering, Level 3 Network Security
Level 2 AWS Networking

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Technical:
Strong Networking and Network security knowledge.
Hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting data center and cloud network Infrastructure.
Level 3 network support experience covering network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
Experience in supporting global network, IP and related security services, troubleshooting resolve complex system and network issues and outages.
Experience reviewing network configuration settings/policies, strengthening and hardening Network security.
Proficiency working with third party vendors and technologies.
Hands-on experience in designing and implementing network solutions.
Experience using AWS technology, AWS security best practices, AWS storage options and their underlying consistency models, and AWS networking nuances and how they relate to the integration of AWS services.
Knowledge of advanced networking architectures and interconnectivity options [e.g., IP VPN, multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), virtual private LAN service (VPLS)].
Experience in design, implementation, and optimization of: Routing architectures (including static and dynamic); multi-region solutions for a global enterprise; highly available connectivity solutions (e.g., AWS Direct Connect, VPN), s3, proxy solutions such as ZScaler, Firewalls, IDS
Strong Knowledge of CIDR and sub-netting (IPv4 and IPv6); IPv6 transition challenges; and generic solutions for network security features, including AWS WAF, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), DDoS protection
Knowledge of content delivery network

Non-Technical:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills (technical and non-technical).
Ability to multi-task and manage competing and conflicting priorities.
Ability to complete proof of concept by coordinating with multiple stakeholder
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written.
Experience working with operational environments following ITIL, industry standards, frameworks, and reference architectures.

Good-to-Have
Industry Certifications:

CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking specialization

1 Champion of Networking and Network Security and play a SME role
2 The person will be interacting in a technical capacity with different stakeholders from architecture, security, networking teams
3 The person will play a key role in executing proof of concept involving global networks, AWS and security tools.
4 Work independently and exercise reasonable judgement with little supervision
5 Present PoC results in forum involving SMEs and Directors.
