The Sr Manager - Systems and Software engineering is a key leadership role within the PowerDrive Systems (PDS) business unit. The role leads a large team of engineering managers, supervisors and technical engineers, driving product developments in vehicle electrification. The role requires strong people and technical leadership in embedded systems and software engineering, with a process driven and quality culture, focused on excellence.

Tasks
- Regional responsibility for the embedded systems and software groups.
- Develop and build new location for PDS Engineering at Krakow / Poland.
- Global work and resource coordination with other regional development center leaders.
- Manage a large team of managers and supervisors by establishing and maintaining SMART objectives and providing feedback against those commitments.
- Define and monitor team metrics.
- Ensure team resources, skills and knowledge are available to meet project needs.
- Review and resolve priority task conflicts within the team.
- Monitor and drive your team's career growth needs.
- Provide a line of escalation for competency and resource team issues.
- Facilitate clear and open communication within the team.
- Drive knowledge of, and adherence to, the company s processes and procedures.
- Drive best practices and continuous improvement in process and tools.
- Be a technical leader in the competency development fields.
- Define, develop, and maintain technical guidance documentation for development roles within the group.
- Drive a platform-based competency approach for maximum reusability.
- Manages the local cost center budget for the defined competencies.
- Responsible for hiring, retention and HR topics for the team.
Requirements
- Engineering Bachelor's Degree in electrical or software engineering (or equivalent)
- 10+ years of experience of engineering roles within embedded systems development.
- 5+ years of experience of increasing responsibilities, within leadership roles.
- Proven strategic leader with ability to lead and develop teams with the ability to inspire and motivate others, develop direct reports skills and encourage growth.
- Strong knowledge of systemssoftware engineering principles and guidelines (eg INCOSE).
- Experience with automotive embedded software development based on AUTOSAR architecture-MCAL, BSW, configuration tools from Vector/Mentor/EB Tresos etc. and methodology.
- Experience and knowledge of Model Based Development (MBD) and auto-code generation methodologies using Matlab tool-boxes (Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow/eCoder etc)
- Experience task management tools eg. Atlassian JIRA, IBM Rational RTC etc.
- Experience of working within an ASPICE based process environment (or similar)
- Knowledge of V cycle development, requirements, architecture and controls engineering principles.Experience delivering a project with functional safety (ISO26262) requirements.
- Propulsion or electric motor system experience.
- Knowledge of cyber security concepts and the new ISO 21434 standard
