BeautifulDestinations is launching a mobile app to serve its 45M+ social travel community to solve the problem of where to travel through short vertical videos The team includes Jeremy who has been a leader in travel and the creator economy for ten years, while also being a repeat founder (TicTrac exited for $60m this year). Saad is a well-respected technical leader having launched and grown multiple startups, most recently the unicorn Flink.

Tasks

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced mobile app designer who is passionate about working on an innovative and modern, vertical-video based concept in a dynamic nascent working environment. You will work closely with the product team to design a next generation travel mobile app and other mobile interfaces across multiple platforms such as iOS, Android, and mobile web. You will be working as a hybrid visual and interaction designer who has a deep aesthetic sense; a sharp understanding of how people use their devices and a good sense of user s flexibility to adapt to new technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop chic, intuitive, usable, and engaging interaction and visual designs for a new generation applications involving vertical videos and/or content commerce, interaction and tech (TikTok, Instagram Reels etc)
• Comprehend the company vision and reflect it in the product design both aesthetically and thematically
• Maintain a robust design checking all the modern UI/UX requirements
• Design various homogenous app components like icons, widgets etc.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design process
• Provide creative ideas and inspiration that may be integrated in the app
• Work closely with the front-end engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met and to provide design solutions for technical product challenges
• Stay updated on the latest standards, changes, trends in the mobile design field
• Participate in the development process through design, build, test, release, and maintenance
• Iterate the app UI/UX based on market feedback

Requirements

Requirements and Skills:

• You have prior experience as a Mobile App Designer. Experience with Travel and/or media content first projects (vertical videos etc.) is preferred.
• You are willing to build the application design from scratch in a collaborative cross functional environment.
• You have demonstrable design skills, and ability to show relevant work through a rich design portfolio.
• You have a keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
• You possess expert level skills in relevant design tools such as Figma, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, InvisionApp, UXPin etc.
• Solid understanding of Apple s human interface design guidelines, Android design and other mobile platform designs, including Google s material design.
• You possess a good understanding of intuitive layouts, palette development and typography.
• Proven ability to deliver high quality designs to customers with an excellent understanding of user-experience for mobile and web.
• Strong understanding, perception and incorporation of use-cases and user interactions, including happy path, edge and corner cases
• You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas, designs and inputs.
• A bachelor s or higher in product design, interaction design, human-computer interaction or related field is preferred.
