About Pargo

Pargo is a Cape Town based smart logistics company on a mission to build Africa s leading last-mile delivery solution through its tech enabled network of access points. Pargo allows consumers, companies and couriers to send, receive, return and pay for parcels at Pargo points located at convenient retail stores. Currently Pargo has over 3,000 pickup points, servicing 87% of the postal codes in South Africa and growing constantly.

With the rise of ecommerce across the continent, the demand for affordable and reliable delivery continues to increase. Having seen exponential growth in South Africa, Pargo is expanding into new markets which face similar challenges.

The Role

In the next few months Pargo will launch operations in Egypt and is looking for a strong Marketing Manager to enthusiastically drive awareness of Pargo s Click and Collect and Returns product. Youll be part of the Marketing team that ensures a seamless parcel delivery process for our clients. You will plan, develop and implement a marketing strategy that will support Pargo s launch in Egypt through working closely with clients in order to achieve a high return of end-user selection of Pargo s products.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a strategic and experienced Marketing Manager with an innovative approach to build and grow a successful marketing function here at Pargo Egypt. The right candidate is excited about the challenge of launching and growing new categories in last mile delivery solutions where you can bring your creativity and experimental mindset to bear without relying on massive budgets.
We are looking for someone with a diverse skill set; familiar with branding, performance marketing, campaign marketing, social media marketing and content strategy; and significant experience leading high performing creative teams.

You will be reporting into the Egypt Country Lead and working very closely with the Marketing Team in South Africa.

The Roles and Your Responsibilities:

  • Launch Pargo in Egypt with a clear cut strategy on brand proposition.
  • Build, manage and grow a high functioning marketing capability.
  • Develop, execute and optimize our marketing strategy and analyze and report on the performance to ensure we reach target metrics and achieve a high ROI on our marketing efforts.
  • Determine the best channel mix and go-to-market strategies to meet high scale and low cost new users and businesses.
  • Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share.
  • Define and implement a communications strategy that delivers the traffic needed to achieve Pargo Egypt s goals.
  • Refine and enhance our value proposition so that it can effectively differentiate our product within the marketplace, is aligned with our overall brand architecture and rooted in consumer insight, using our product strategy as a foundation.
  • Manage all external communication channels and content ensuring messaging and design is consistent with brand guidelines in style, quality and tone. Ensure all content is optimized for search and user experience for all channels.
  • Create a solid network of strategic partnerships and collaborators.
  • Use market and competitive research to segment and define target markets and implement market-penetration strategies.
  • Build marketing plans and budgets for the smooth operation of marketing campaigns.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with the sales team and other key stakeholders to ensure that we achieve our sales goals and optimize lead generation while building a pipeline through integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with the product team to test UX, train internal and external stakeholders and launch new products.
  • Collaborate with the data and product teams to uncover insights which will inform new and existing marketing strategies for our various products and services.
  • Lead production management for stills and video shoots.


Requirements

  • The experience and skills we believe you will require to be successful in this role:
  • Proven 5+ years of experience as Marketing Manager, Head of Marketing or a similar role leading a marketing role preferably within the tech or ecommerce space. Experience in start ups/scale ups is preferred.
  • At least 3+ years dedicated to performance/paid media, preferably in ecommerce, tech or fintech spaces.
  • Direct experience in digital ad managers (Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, google Ads, TikTok Ads, etc.) and able to set up campaigns, manage insights and adjust based on performance.
  • Direct experience in organic acquisition channels, including SEO and ASO.
  • Experience building a metrics-driven, highly accountable marketing organization focused on measurable outcomes with a roll up your sleeves management approach.
  • Has a track record of delivering business growth through the focused execution of creative innovation and compelling customer and data-driven solutions to exceed target performance.
  • A deep understanding of how to develop and apply a marketing strategy, including brand and product, positioning, segmentation and multi-channel communications.
  • Diverse integrated marketing skill set including digital marketing, content creation, SEO, performance, brand and campaigns management.
  • B2B as well as B2C marketing experience.
  • Experience in a brand management role.
  • Experience with industry standard martech tools.
  • Strong aptitude for analytics and online marketing metrics and can translate these findings and customer insights into clear, data driven, actionable insights for your team and the business.
  • Solid experience managing big cross-functional projects.
