Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

• Draw and Design Electrical drawings (Power, lighting, lighting control, low current systems, installation details, earthing and lightning protection) and coordinate with other departments.
• Interpret design brief and criteria, installation manuals and datasheets.
• Prepare technical compliance sheets for proposed material/equipment in accordance to consultants recommended specifications.
• Prepare pricing sheet and financial proposal including Bill of Quantities of all proposed products and their respective costs.
• Identify suppliers and technologies that meets individual client needs and engage with them to acquire quotations and technical information required to prepare customer proposal.
• Coordinate with customer appointed consultant and prepare any required material and shop drawing submittals after project award Provide technical support to implementation team and address any questions with regards to solution design and proposed equipment throughout project implementation phase.
• Assist in recommendations for future acquisitions equipment & appropriate supplier.
• Prepare project procurement plan with coordination with (AV Head & Head of operation).
• Send RFQ to concerned selected suppliers (three suppliers if applicable).
• Receive and evaluate technical and commercial offers.
• Ensuring that the quality of all services & material provided meets the required standards
• Evaluate each supplier’s performance and submit evaluation report.
• Market scanning for new suppliers & subcontractors to enhance total cost of ownership in each suppliers’ category.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience at least 3 years at building & construction field.
• Indoor and outdoor lighting calculations using Dialux, Dialux evo or Relux.
• Voltage Drop & Short Circuit calculations manually and using ETAP.
• Microsoft Office (EXCEL) for Panel Board Schedules, MCC, calculations sheets, Load estimations, cables feeders’ tables and equipment schedules,
• Develop and conduct design reports.
• Good command of using CAD, REVIT, and other supporting computer design tools
• Strong written, verbal (Arabic & English), and interpersonal communication skills, and excellent organizational skills.
