Responsible for accurately assessing damaged vehicles, preparing estimates, and all supporting documentation to clients. Ability to use automotive estimating software for calculating repair costs and estimating reports. Main job requirements are knowledge of auto body repair, attention to details, customer service, confidence working with numbers and computers.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
â Responsible for maintaining an open line of communication with customers through all phases of the collision repair process.
â Required to stay up to date on vehicle status throughout the entire process and ensure the vehicle maintains quoted estimated time of arrival (ETA).
â Examines damaged vehicles to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical or interior damage.
â Ensure that all online estimates receive a walk around 360-degree estimate upon arrival to the facility.
â Determines cost effectiveness of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders and doors.
â Prepare supporting documentation for estimates, including taking photographs, OEM position statements, completing forms, and other tasks required by customers, insurance, and fleet companies.
â Write estimates using proper repair procedures in accordance with insurance, fleet, and other partners and Automotive Industries guidelines.
â Responsible for pre-scans, post-scans and quality control check off on all assigned vehicles.
â Able to create and send invoices in a timely manner for completed cars in specific customer formats.
â Able to fill department estimating needs during team mate transitions or absences.
â Working knowledge of CCC estimating platform and other management systems.
â Comply with company safety rules, guidelines, and standards.
â Perform other duties as required to successfully meet the needs and goals of the Estimating department and Automotive Industries.
Requirements
Educational Requirements:
â High school diploma or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
Position Requirements
â Pass a criminal background check and drug screen
â Must have a valid driverâs license
â Under the state of Oklahomas Unity Bill, this position is classified as a "Safety Sensitive Position" due to the job requirement of driving a vehicle.
â Estimators must maintain an open line of communication with all departments and vendors to increase knowledge of vehicle status for clients.
â Proven organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously with strong attention to details.
â Ability to analyze reports from multiple programs utilizing all available reporting and tools, including CCC.
â Current and continued knowledge of proper vehicle repair procedures and technologies.
â Maintain and execute a timely schedule before, during, and after completion of repairs.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Position is based in a normal shop environment. Daily activity as well as repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion and lifting objects over 50 pounds. Must be able to push/pull parts, carts, and cars with assistance. Working environment consists of: Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with high levels of noise. Automotive Industries enforces the mandatory requirement to wear personal protective equipment also known as PPE. Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment. Subject to climate changes both inside and outside the facility. Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
