Job Summary:

The Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform general ledger accounting and other related duties in the finance and accounting department.

• Prepare periodic balance sheets, income statements, profit and loss statements, and other financial reporting in accordance with company policy and applicable industry practices.

• Perform monthly closings including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and making journal entries; research, investigate, resolve open items from reconciliations

• Reconciles customer accounts and manage accounts receivable.

• Provides assistance to outside auditors in relation to preparation of reviewed and audited financial statements including research and gathering necessary information and documentation.

• Participate and assist with the preparation and filing of required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

• As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.

• Design, recommend, and implement internal controls.

• Evaluate, develop, and implement financial operational processes for efficiency and accuracy

• Communicate and develop relationships with other stakeholders and communicate accounting program objectives; work with stakeholders to accomplish both accounting and corporate objectives.

• Analyze contracts and identify revenue recognition issues and advise management accordingly.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Solid understanding of internal controls and GAAP requirements including ASC 606

• Awareness of business trends.

• Familiarity with financial accounting statements.

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, similar to QuickBooks, Sage, Costpoint.

• Advanced MS Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables.

• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.

• Accuracy and attention to detail.

• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education/Experience:

• 5-7 years as an Accountant.

• Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred.

• Experience in high transactional volume environments strongly preferred.

• Experience with payments and payment facilitation preferred.

Additional Requirements/Preferences:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, talking on a phone and working on a computer.

• Must be qualified to work in the United States.

• Preferred location in Tulsa, Oklahoma; nationwide location considered.

• Majority of work is remote with occasional in person work depending on circumstances.
