Roles and responsibilities

1. Teaching Responsibilities:

• Lectures and Seminars: Deliver lectures and seminars on various topics in electrical engineering, such as circuit design, electronics, signal processing, control systems, electromagnetics, communications, power systems, microelectronics, and renewable energy systems.
• Curriculum Development: Develop, revise, and update course content, including syllabi, lecture notes, assignments, and assessments. Ensure that the curriculum is aligned with current trends, industry standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Laboratory Instruction: Provide hands-on instruction in electrical engineering laboratories, where students can apply theoretical knowledge to real-world experiments. This includes guiding students in designing, testing, and analyzing electrical circuits and systems.
• Student Assessment: Evaluate student performance through exams, quizzes, lab reports, projects, and assignments. Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and skills.
• Mentoring and Advising: Serve as an academic advisor to students, particularly those pursuing a degree in electrical engineering. Offer guidance on course selection, research opportunities, internships, and career paths.

2. Research Responsibilities:

• Conduct Research: Engage in cutting-edge research in one or more areas of electrical engineering. This could include areas like power systems, renewable energy, microelectronics, wireless communications, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, control systems, or signal processing.
• Publish Research: Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present them at conferences. Contribute to advancing the field of electrical engineering through research that addresses real-world challenges.
• Collaborate on Research Projects: Work with colleagues, industry professionals, and research institutions on interdisciplinary research projects that explore new technologies, systems, and methodologies in electrical engineering.
• Grant Writing: Apply for research funding from government agencies, industry partners, and research foundations to support electrical engineering projects. This may include submitting proposals for grants and collaborating with colleagues to secure funding for large-scale research initiatives.
• Supervise Graduate Students: Mentor graduate students pursuing master's or PhD research in electrical engineering. Guide students through the research process, including study design, data collection, analysis, and thesis or dissertation writing.

3. Professional Development:

• Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest developments in electrical engineering by reading journals, attending conferences, and participating in professional development opportunities. Keep up with emerging technologies, industry trends, and research breakthroughs.
• Networking and Collaboration: Build a professional network with colleagues, industry professionals, and other researchers in the electrical engineering community. Participate in conferences, workshops, and professional organizations like the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
• Certifications and Training: Obtain certifications or additional training in specialized areas of electrical engineering or teaching methodologies, if applicable, to enhance both teaching and research effectiveness.

Desired candidate profile

1. The applicant must be a Saudi national.
-2. The applicant must have obtained all his/her academic qualifications from Saudi universities or recognized universities.
-3. The applicant’s grade for the position of Assistant Professor must not be less than a very good grade in all academic stages. Applicants who obtained a good grade in the bachelor’s stage are exempted from this in cases of academic or research excellence.
-4. The applicant must attach the “equivalency certificate” issued by the Ministry of Education for the academic qualifications he/she obtained from non-Saudi universities.
-5 The study system for the applicant in all stages (bachelor's, master's, doctorate) must be full-time and full-time. The applicant must attach the scholarship or assignment decision if he is a government employee.
-6 There must be an extension of specialization between academic degrees (bachelor's, master's, doctorate).
-7 Attach the classification certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (for applicants for health jobs).
-8 The applicant must provide the correct data matching the official documents and the required attachments during the application period.
-9 Attend and pass the personal interviews.
-10 The applicant must be medically fit.
