Transportation Analyst

Roles and responsibilities

Qiddiya Investment Company is at the forefront of developing an innovative entertainment and leisure destination in Saudi Arabia. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as an Analyst - Transportation. In this role, you will play a vital part in analyzing transportation data, trends, and performance metrics to support our transportation planning and mobility strategies.

Your insights and expertise will help ensure the efficient movement of people and goods within the Qiddiya project, contributing to a seamless experience for our visitors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate transportation systems, performance metrics, and trends to identify areas for improvement
• Coordinate and schedule transportation for staff and visitors
• Ensure the safe and timely movement of vehicles and passengers
• Maintain vehicle records, including maintenance and inspection logs
• Provide excellent customer service to all transportation users
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards
• Report any incidents or vehicle issues to management promptly
• Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings to internal teams and stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand transportation needs and support project initiatives
• Route Planning and Optimization
  Analyze and optimize transportation routes to minimize delivery time, reduce fuel consumption, and improve overall fleet efficiency.
  Use tools such as route optimization software and geographic information systems (GIS) to create the most efficient delivery routes.
  Continuously review and adjust route plans based on factors like road conditions, delivery schedules, or changes in demand.
  . Carrier Management and Coordination
  Evaluate and select transportation providers (e.g., carriers, freight forwarders, third-party logistics providers) based on cost, performance, and service levels.
  Negotiate contracts and service agreements with carriers, ensuring favorable terms for the organization.
  Monitor carrier performance and address any issues related to service delays, damages, or compliance.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field
1-3 years of experience in transportation analysis, planning, or related roles with valid driver's license
Excellent communication and strong organizational skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
A passion for improving transportation systems and contributing to sustainable solutions
Data Analysis and Reporting
Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation data, including shipping routes, delivery times, fuel consumption, and vehicle performance.
Create detailed reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transportation costs, and capacity utilization.
Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in transportation data and provide insights to improve operational efficiency.
Cost Optimization
Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings, such as optimizing routes, reducing fuel consumption, or renegotiating contracts with carriers.
Develop and implement strategies to improve cost efficiency, including consolidation of shipments, optimizing fleet management, or selecting cost-effective transportation modes.
Support budget planning by forecasting transportation costs based on historical data and business needs.
