POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks middle school teachers for our fifth through eighth grade classrooms in the 202526 school year. Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment implementing curriculum assessing students collaborating with their team building relationships with families and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their Principal.
OUR CURRENT MODEL
There are four home room teachers on each grade level who are each responsible for teaching a core subject. (For example there are four teachers on the 6th grade team; each staff member teaches every student on that grade level for their assigned subject.) Class size is typically about 26 students per class.
Subjects on each grade level include English Language Arts Social Studies Math and Science. Please note within the application what grade levels and/or subject area you prefer. Relevant certification should also be indicated in the application.
Please note that fifth grade is considered part of our middle school model.

Our current starting salary for a firstyear lead teacher is $50000

To support teacher practice and their growth all lead teachers receive individualized coaching and professional development.
*The salary offered in the DocuSign doesnt include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. In our first year of paying out millage stipends certified NewtoKIPP instructional staff received an additional $7000. Certified staff also received TSIA stipends this year. There are other opportunities to earn money at KIPP Jax in the form of additional stipends. This role will only be eligible for instructional stipends if they have their FLDOE certification.

Qualifications :
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree
Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in one of the following areas:
Elementary Education K6 for positions in grades 5th or 6th
Math Science English or Social Studies 59 for a specific subject area in grades 567 or 8.
Secondary Math English or Social Studies 612 for a specific subject area in grades 67 or 8.
Specific science area 612 for science positions in grades 67 or 8.
At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven trackrecord of high achievement in the classroom

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress) if teaching English Language Arts
ESOL Endorsement (or competency coursework in progress)
Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven trackrecord of high achievement in the classroom in a relevant grade level
