Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer Airports to join our dynamic Airports team. This role involves designing developing and overseeing mechanical systems for airport facilities ensuring compliance with regulatory standards safety codes and project specifications. The successful candidate will also mentor junior team members and foster technical innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems for airport facilities including HVAC plumbing fire protection and more.
- Draft technical reports specifications and construction documentation.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of materials for mechanical systems.
- Review and inspect mechanical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders to evaluate and source equipment for projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
- Participate in site meetings providing updates and addressing concerns related to mechanical engineering.
- Mentor EITs and junior professionals fostering technical growth within the organization.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Registered as a P.Eng (Professional Engineer) in at least one Canadian province with the ability to register in other provinces as needed.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the design and inspection of mechanical systems for airport or largescale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards including CSA NFPA and airportspecific regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. Familiarity with Revit and HAP is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in airport infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with modeling tools and mechanical design software.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and energyefficient systems.

Bachelor s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in site inspection or a similar role, preferably in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) building projects. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, design standards, and building codes. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics accurately. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality assurance protocols. Certification in construction site safety is an asset. Experience with project management software and tools. Prior experience in mechanical systems design or installation. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
