Job Description

Role: Program Manager Skillability Dehradun
Experience: 7 years
Salary: Up to 9 LPA

About org:

Aasraa Trust was established in 2009 to work with societys most underprivileged and vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Dehradun. Aasraa is not just a charity but a vehicle for empowerment through education skills training and nutrition healthcare and shelter homes. Starting with street level mobilization Aasraa uses a multifaced approach that prepares children for mainstream education and transition to higher studies and skills training.

Aasraa is certified by National Institute of Open Schooling and works with the education department of Uttarakhand to improve the quality of education at 9government school in Dehradun. Aasraa is also implementing a Girl Education Program in four girls Inter Collages in Udham Singh Nagar Uttarakhand. Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned abandoned abused and special needs children.

Aasraa started 14 years ago with 35 children and it now supports over 9000 children from the streets and slums across 50 projects in Dehradun district.

Purpose of the Job

To oversee the implementation of vocational skills training enhance skill development and add value to the vocational training programs conducted at the Skillability Center of Aasraa Trust.

Objective of the role

This role focuses on designing planning and executing vocational training programs while ensuring quality and alignment with the organizations goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and plan training programs for the Skillability Center.

  2. Create or review training manuals to support effective delivery of the programs.
  3. Design and implement detailed work plans for vocational training activities.
  4. Conduct quarterly assessments to track students skill development.
  5. Identify and collaborate with vocational institutions to provide additional training for students.
  6. Develop a toolkit to match students with the right skilling programs based on their abilities and goals.
  7. Regularly review and improve the training programs to maintain quality.
  8. Engage trainers and mentors to guide and support students in achieving success.
  9. Lead the training and development of teachers and instructors.
  10. Prepare reports and documentation including monthly project updates and donor reports.

Education Qualifications

  • A bachelors or masters degree in Vocational Education Training Management or a related field.

Core experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in managing vocational training or similar projects.

Preferable Knowledge/Experience

  • Strong background in technical and vocational education programs.

Competencies Required

  • Technical competencies: Experience in developing and managing vocational training programs. Strong project planning and implementation skills.
  • Behavioral competencies: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Leadership and the ability to motivate teams.
