Job Description
The Role
We are seeking a skilled Backup Engineer with expertise in NetBackup and Veeam to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing and managing robust backup and recovery solutions ensuring the protection and availability of critical business data.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Backup Solution Design and Implementation
- Maintain backup and recovery solutions using NetBackup and Veeam.
- Maintain backup and recovery using Datto systems Azure backups and Avepoint 365 backups.
- Maintain backup and recovery solutions using NetBackup and Veeam.
Monitoring and Maintenance
- Monitor backup jobs troubleshoot issues and ensure the successful completion of backup and recovery processes.
- Assist with regular system upgrades patches and maintenance activities to optimize backup performance.

Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for backup and recovery processes configurations and procedures.
- Create and update operational manuals for IT staff.

Training and Support
- Provide training to IT staff on backup best practices and procedures.
- Offer support and troubleshooting assistance to endusers and IT teams.

Requirements
Key Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Backup Engineer with a focus on NetBackup and Veeam.
- Familiarity with Datto systems.
- Familiarity with Azure backups and Avepoint 365 backups.
- Sound knowledge of backup and recovery principles methodologies and best practices.
- Knowledge in server support for Windows Server operating systems and some knowledge of Linux operating systems is ideal.
- Familiarity with storage technologies and systems.
- Familiarity with archiving systems (e.g. Enterprise Vault) is also a plus.
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Veritas Certified Specialist Veeam Certified Engineer) are a plus.
