We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our clients team in Wilmington MA.
This role is integral to delivering innovative industrial automation solutions with a focus on PLC DCS HMI and SCADA platforms. The ideal candidate will bring extensive technical expertise leadership capabilities and project management skills to drive successful automation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and commission automation systems for industrial processes including control system architecture PLC/DCS programming and HMI/SCADA development.
- Lead projects through all phases including conceptual design implementation testing startup and commissioning.
- Oversee team performance budgets scheduling and task prioritization while ensuring project profitability.
- Act as a technical lead providing mentorship to engineers and technicians.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in the life sciences industry such as cGMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Electrical/Control Engineering Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering or Computer Science.
10 years of process automation experience in life sciences with expertise in Batch S88 systems (small molecule liquid or powder facilities).
Strong proficiency in PLC platforms (Rockwell Siemens Modicon) HMI/SCADA systems (GE iFIX Ignition FactoryTalk) and DCS platforms (Emerson DeltaV PlantPAx).
Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP Modbus OPC) and relational databases (SQL Oracle).
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead automation projects with budgets up to $1M.
Excellent technical writing communication and problemsolving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AutoCAD and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of IT/OT networking and GAMP5 validation methodologies.
- Experience with regulatory requirements and system development life cycles in the life sciences industry.
