Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Porter/Catering Assistant to join our team in Scarborough United Kingdom. This parttime position is available for Saturday Sunday and Monday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM during term time only. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our catering operations and maintaining a clean efficient environment for our customers.
- Assist in food preparation including washing peeling and chopping ingredients
- Serve meals and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Operate basic kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Transport food supplies and equipment between kitchen and service areas
- Perform cleaning duties including washing dishes utensils and kitchen surfaces
- Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas for events or daily service
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations during busy periods
- Respond promptly to customer requests and concerns
Qualifications :
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly supportive attitude
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team
- Time management skills and reliability
- Previous experience in catering or food service preferred
- Food safety certification preferred but not required
- Flexibility to work weekends and during term time
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs of the organization
